Garland Offers Online Service Requests

Garland, Texas - July 14, 2008 -- The City of Garland has added a new feature to its website:  the Citizen’s Request Center.  This feature will allow citizens to browse a knowledge base of frequently asked questions or submit a new question.  New questions will be answered promptly and may be added to the knowledge base for the benefit of other citizens.

In addition, citizens may submit online requests for certain City services.  The system will also allow citizens to track their requests.  “At this time we are starting with only a few departments, but we will be adding other departments as quickly as possible,” says Dorothy White, Public & Media Affairs Manager for the City.

Citizens will need to create a log-in to submit service requests, check for updates on their requests and submit new questions.  To register, citizens are asked to include their address and phone number.  This information is important should City staff need to contact the citizen directly to fulfill a request.  Certain service requests may be submitted anonymously.

To access the Citizen’s Request Center, go to www.ci.garland.tx.us and click on the Citizen’s Request Center link.  The City of Garland has contracted with GovQA to provide this service.  GovQA leads the country in Citizen Request Management for city and county governments.
