Warrant Options

If warrants are paid online, it's a fine payment, not a bond. A payment cannot be converted to a bond. If you have a Bench, Capias or Alias warrant, you may pay online. Click here for open warrants
There are three types of warrants: Alias, Bench and Capias. An Alias Warrant is when the subject fails to make an initial appearance after the citation is issued. A Bench Warrant is when the subject sets a court date, and then fails to show at scheduled court date. A Capias Warrant is when the subject has a guilty judgment either through court appearance, plea, or arraignment in jail, then fails to pay the fine within the required time period. A collection fee of 30% of the fine may be assessed when the case is forwarded to a collection agency. Options for Handling an Alias or Bench Warrant are: (Personal Checks are not Accepted) 1. In Person: You may appear at the Municipal Court Building at 1791 West Avenue B between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday and either pay the fine amount by cash, money order or credit card. OR 2. Post a cash bond or attorney bond to set a court date. 3. By Mail: You may pay the fine by money order to: City of Garland Municipal Court 1791 West Avenue B Garland, TX 75042 4. Drop Box: You may drop a payment (fines only) in the night drop box located to the right of the Court Building that is available 24 hours a day 7 days per week. 5. Can pay over the telephone.
Options for Handling a Capias Warrant are: 1. Pay the cash fine only. By Mail: You may pay the fine by money order to: City of Garland Municipal Court 1791 West Avenue B Garland, TX 75042
2. Turn yourself into one of our Marshals, a Warrant Officer or you can appear at the Detention Center for arrest. The Detention Center is located at 1891 Forest Lane, Garland, TX.
