The City of Garland hosts two city-sponsored special events each year; the Star Spangled Fourth and Christmas on the Square. Civic organizations, community groups and nonprofit organizations wishing to host events in the city should contact the Building Inspection Department (972-205-2300) to determine if a Special Event Permit is necessary, and to obtain guidelines regarding signage, tents, amplified sound, stages, and food/beverage vendors. Organizations may also receive assistance from the City's Community Relations Department in coordinating City services for events held on City property by contacting the Special Events Coordinator at 972-205-2633.
